Well positioned down the road from the Sandton CBD and attached to the City Lodge Hotel , Katherine/Grayston Drive Sandton, the Whiteboy Shebeen is a convenient and unconventional place to spend a lunch hour or an evening. And, although they don't take themselves too seriously, as you can probably tell from their tongue-in-cheek name, their food is fantastic and they have an atmosphere to boot. The décor of The Whiteboy Shebeen is fashionably unrefined with stark corrugated iron roofing and a bright orange and blue exterior, combined cleverly with a more sophisticated décor, which is both comfortable and tasteful. Downstairs, you'll find a fun Tapas Bar which is open from noon until late in the evening. Here they serve delectable Spanish treats such as calamari, and marog-topped oysters.
The main dining area is upstairs, and this is a superb venue offering a selection of South African cuisine and a variety of other international dishes covering most parts of the world, and fusing many flavours and ingredients.
Prepare for an evening of fine dining, excellent wines, good service and value with an elegant African twist to the dishes. It's a great spot to take guests, or to simply kick back and feel like a real South African in a classy shebeen.
