Linger Longer Overview
Linger Longer really is a Johannesburg institution, and although this restaurant has changed hands numerous times since it’s conception in the early 60s, it still maintains exceptionally high standards and is guaranteed to produce a memorable dining experience from start to finish. Everyone will tell you of the beautiful Wierda Valley surroundings, and when you consider the quality of their food served in classically elegant surroundings, this is a must-visit Joburg restaurant.
The à la carte menu is diverse and caters for all tastes, and if you enjoy your meat you’ll have a tough time deciding what to eat (the oven roasted beef fillet with foie gras butter comes particularly well-recommended). As you would expect from a restaurant of this nature, there are a number of extravagant seafood dishes on the menu as well, and you can get anything from the ever-popular Lobster bisque right through to a prawn, langoustine and green curry.
Of course you pay for a decadent experience such as this, and main courses will set you back between R100 and R155. All of which can, of course, be justified when you see what you’re getting for your money.
